My friend your just down the block! I live in Sunrise my weatherstation peak gusts today has been 26 mph. we will wait for the circulation to get closer to see if things pick up. Rain also has been not constant so this will help with the flooding.

It's almost like you live across the state from me. Our weather in Wilton Manors has been the opposite. It's been
quite windy and it's been raining almost non stop all day.

It’s been on and off heavy gusts and sideways down pours here in Martin county

I'm seeing official wind gust observations into the 40's quite some distance from the center.
That is enough to make the power lines slap so you have to wait for a transformer reset.
Eta looks almost extratropical now but will likely stay warm core once the shear lets up.

Eta’s poor IR appearance was not unexpected. The HWRF shows it remaining pretty anemic until tomorrow morning, and it doesn’t really start going again until Tuesday, when it stalls over the loop current and has mixed out all of the dry air.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

A bizarre storm. An upper low on top of LLC Eta. Turning together. Go figure. Difficult to forecast track and intensity for sure

HRRR is persistent that SE coastal FL will see wind gusts in the 60-80 mph range tonight.

The inner core is devoid of any colder tops still however is appearing on visible satellite to be becoming more defined and possibly contracting some. Keep an eye on the convection well too the north of center. There's likely 50-60 mph gusts within much of this band setting to move into the Miami-Boca area in the coming few hours.

Thats my concern being in the dirty side and not to mention the forecasted rain. It seems like SE FL could be in a sweet spot for impacts. Lower half of circulation may not have much

The HRRR track not looking to bad, upper Keys & peninsula tip looks good given Eta been R of track for days.

I know nothing of where to find such info. NHC is my official information source, and this forum is my source of all other kinds of wonderfully useful tidbits - like the ones provided by you above (I believe it was you who posted a wind map earlier as well, but maybe I am wrong). So, where do you find such info? :?:

I don’t believe we were expecting anything too impressive in inland areas, were we? Other than some decent rain.

John Morales a couple hours ago was still predicting 50-70mph gusts across Metro SFL (not strictly Miami, also not your area in Orlando), isolated tornados, and up to another 10 inches of rain. The biggest wind threat I imagine won't be until tonight, and overnight.

Right, and I wasn’t really referring to Orlando as I know we aren’t expected to get much in the way of wind and rain, (although we’ve been getting some decent 30 mph + gusts the last couple of hours- but no rain). I was thinking for inland folks even down south, except for extreme southern Dade- nothing but low end t.s. winds and periodic heavy rain. I guess ‘impressive‘ is a relative term. :D

Eta is still gaining latitude, 12z GFS might be right after all.

I'm having doubts that Eta will be able to make hurricane strength in the 12 hours before it passes very near Key West. It's still in my forecast, but Eta ate (palindrome) a lot of dry air today.

Saved loop, easy to make out the center and as Wxman mentions, big gulp of dry air it has taken:

Hurricane seems unlikely, track seems to be trending N of forecast
