The good news is we can handle several inches of rain along coastal Louisiana as some areas are in drought or just coming out if it. This potential gulf storm looks like will be moving at a good clip when it reaches the coast.

I'm thinkin 93l will give most all of us a taste of some rain before it's said and done...

There are some areas north and west of lake Pontchartrain that can't handle a lot of rain due to the 8-16" that fell a few weeks ago. The rain has been scattered since then, but it hasn't been dry for most areas. Just to the east into the Slidell area still needs rain though.

This is about to be a little confusing since the NHC keeps Amanda as a TD as it enters the BOC, then we have this feature that is also associated with or is Amanda with an orange marker.

It isn't an actual invest yet. We're just calling it so we have a place to talk about Amanda's remnants and the spin up in the BoC

I’ve heard conditions in the Gulf will be favorable and I’ve heard they won’t be favorable. Idk who to believe at this point.

I don't know about the Wester GoM but on the Florida side, water temps are pushing 88-89 degrees.

They won’t be unfavorable, but they also won’t be extremely favorable. In other words a sheared/lopsided TS is my best guess typical of early-June is my best guess.

We did something unprecedented for the first time in S2K and has not be done before and that is have the invests threads before is up on ATCF as there was confusion with people posting in three different threads and to end that is why the 93L threads are up.

From Remnants of Amanda discussion.

The remnants of Amanda are forecast to turn
northwestward later tonight, and could emerge over the southern Bay
of Campeche late Monday or Tuesday where new tropical cyclone
development is possible.

These monsoonal systems have one heck of a mid level circulation even over land. It shouldn't have a problem redeveloping over water.

:uarrow: If it can keep just several degrees away from the coast it could deepen quite a bit. The Euro shows it with pretty decent vorticity but keeps a lid on it probably due to land interaction. This is through the next 48 hours and before it gets picked up north.

Pretty beastly but unfortunately CA is going to suffer from catastrophic flooding.

If we get two systems in the gulf I wonder what they will do with the naming?
Might make the rainfall totals climb across a wider area of coastline.
