Stay safe out there. Glad Ocracoke, NC evacuated as earkyvas they did.

Likely mostly just the tourists, though this year might have more evacuees than before !!!

The long term residents don't like to leave, thats for sure.

My in-laws are on Connecticut and are excited about the storm. They have a basement to take cover if tornadoes are in the area.

Living in a 'bubble' in Key West, I don't really know how the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast coast residents are reacting to the storm. I did see a New York poster concerned about surge because Isaias forecast to go through at high tide. Being a full moon also, I do rhink the surge may surprise some folks.

Edit to add Charleston, SC radar link.

It would seem to hold up better after landfall due to baroclinic enhancement from the trough.

Charleston radar is showing the storm on track.
Strongest winds on the east side of the storm will remain strong enough to cause major power outage well inland.
Isaias is moving pretty fast so flash flooding will be localized.
Storm surge further north near Southport could be a concern.

To add to that, haven't had a low below 70 since July 7th :sun:

Cat 1 or strong TS, the potential damage is probably the same. Hopefully it moves quickly on its track, and everyone stays safe in its path.

With the extension of the TS Watch to the northern tip of Maine, I believe Isaias has now put the entire US East Coast under a tropical storm watch.

New Mexico had no hurricanes. Then I moved to NC right before Fran.....

That's true. I think the only people the designation really matters to are insurance agents.

First squall rolled through North Topsail Beach around 3 today.

Amazingly, a couple got married on the beach at St Regis resort at 4:00 PM, with about 20 guests. I believe they said 'I do' and are on their way to happily ever after...

We had a nice heavy downpour in Newport about an hour ago. Real heavy rain maybe some gusts in the 25kts range.

According to radar, there should be a rain band coming through Southport now. and it is light rain, and not windy at all.

Also, is it just me, or does it look like he is going more north right now, and may landfall in Georgetown SC, as opposed to the SC/NC line?
