Looks like the shear is finally kicking in. Notice how the convection borders on the west of the system and its CDO have become "icy" or sharp:

But it is keeping itself together despite being inland. Let's see how long it lasts..

Josh Morgerman said he hit the bull's eye and that it's dead calm in Sulphur right now. Can hear frogs and crickets. Said it's "Magic."

Certainly not that calm in Reed's shot. Dirty eye indeed.

Hard to pinpoint it with the radar sites down. Someone mentioned Houston is too far away to be very accurate.

Did Reed ever talk. I hear him getting in and out of the car, but no vocals.

He shouted something when they first got to the car, opened and closed the door but never said anything again. Not sure if they left again.

There were a few DEBRIS! callouts and other conversation before he pulled up to the Wendy's. He got pretty animated when the eyewall hit.

Not that I heard, he's apparently riding around in another vehicle checking damage out. His online audience is shrinking fast. Numbers may pick back up when he gets back in the vehicle and/or the southern eye-wall comes through.

Eye starting to fill in on radar, convection weakening. This should start falling apart more quickly now. Still probably some cat2 winds in the southern eyewall though.

Brandon Clement just talked to Reed on his stream. Reed said he abandoned the vehicle, but may reposition it soon.

Those people running around outside in Reed's stream may want to get back inside ASAP.

edit: Was one of them Reed? He's moving the vehicle now.

Yeah, he got into Mike's Tahoe about 15/20 minutes ago. They have been driving by to check on his car every so often. I belive he said something earlier about wanting to ride in Mike's truck so they could get around debris better.

That white Tahoe that just went by behind two other chase vehicles?

He was in Mike's Black Tahoe with the kc lights on the roof. The others are chasers too, not sure who though.

I'm interested for chasers to be able to head down to see the damage on the coast after sunrise. Hoping somehow there are some survivors...

Very concerned about Hackberry, Holly Beach, Cameron, Small community on the east side of Calcasieu Lake south of Lake Charles, Creole and Grand Chenier.
