I wonder if this thing could become the Delta we all feared. I dearly hope this isn't a Mitch rehash, only worse...

Do not take anything I say seriously as a form of meteorological prediction. I am not a meteorologist; I don't think being in law school translates to any special knowledge. I am just a somewhat bullish amateur watcher.

Not an meteorologist! Just someone who is interested in weather. Please refer to the NHC and local weather officials to make decisions.

Very likely a Cat 3 and soon to be Cat 4 once the winds catch up. There's really nothing to stop this from getting to a 5 honestly.

Well, the latest CIMSS estimate is T4.9 ... but that was from nearly an hour ago and it hasn't picked up on the eye yet.

If I understand the 10 am NHC ETA discussion correctly....it's possible that the remnants of ETA could form into a new cyclone over the NW Carribean, and it would be named Zeta?....or is the 10 am track showing a weakened ETA, that will regain strength over the NW Carribean?....I am a bit confused, can someone please explain the current thinking on ETA?

The views can be shifted in real time, and there is nothing currently going on in the northeast.

Yeah, uh, this is bad.

Likely pushing Cat 4 already. Anyone know when recon is headed back in?

This is just the tops of the low level clouds of course. but eye is rapidly warming.

actual eye temp if recon was there would likely be 27 or 28 c.
