With the threat of possible typhoon landfall in Taiwan, I guess it make sense but when was the last time they did this? I don't recall they did this with Meranti.

Of course it was too good to be true. What’s the point of low-level recon if it’s not even gonna do a single center fix?

This is clickbait essentially if you do not mention it’s an upper level recon. Taiwan does missions like this from time to time.

What's with that one ensemble that still wants to make landfall? I really can't see it happening now, unless like it pumps the ridge.

Both raw Ts and Adj Ts on ADT up to 7.0 now. With the larger eye, ADT should handle it much better than it did with the pinhole. Chanthu should be a Cat 5 again by 6z
