Neat how the storm when it got closer to the radar the mid level eye wall “disappeared” when actually it was no longer visible because the beams are now showing a lower part of the center. Really cool to see the tilted velocity in effect.

That's in that one heavy squall. Outside of that, winds are a lot lower. I was expecting 25-30 mph wind in Miami this morning, not 10-15 mph. Key west now SE 31 kts gusting 48 kts.

I know I see low-level rotation at the tip of the red arrow, but it could be a small vortex rotating around a larger center. Also, a face has appeared on the left side of that squall.

I don't think I've ever tracked a storm that was more reluctant to become vertically stacked than Elsa. I feel like we get one or two a season like this, but this one has particularly struggled.

Too bad the buoy by the Dry Tortugas is not reporting.

That's fascinating. That must be the best way to see shear at work.

Here is Boca Raton no wind no rain as I’m looking out the window. Rain chance at 60% big bust.

Somehow I have a feeling Elsa's problem isn't "reluctance."

Does it just look like it’s heading north because it’s getting chopped up on its NW Side?

Shear is certainly looking destructive due to that HP area to its west strengthening. If it continues to strengthen which it looks like it very well will, Elsa will get shredded not by land, but by wind itself.
