If it happens to be true then that is definitely now the worst case scenario for Grand Isle.

damn, I don't see how that could collapse. That place is like a bunker designed for 200 mph winds I think.

Looks like Golden Meadow's in the eye now...or real close.
<edit> Well, went downhill again. They might not see it.

Local guy just reporting 6.5 ft storm surge in Bay St. Louis Mississippi. and already 150k people without electricity in Southern parishes already. Golden Meadow about to get eyewall.

Stay safe all

I don't live there but I have a few relatives who are riding out the storm near Hammond (specifically Ponchatoula). One actually lives in Hammond but didn't want to stay at his house because his neighborhood floods easily. Kind of wish they had at least checked into a hotel, but...oh well. Their homes seem sturdy enough, I think, and none of those tall pines nearby, but I'm more worried about the lakes on either side.

Hammond flooding can be bad in certain areas. Ponchatoula it can def be bad especially with surge from the lakes.

I’d think surge would have been the main culprit based on descriptions of the building. I don’t want to believe it honestly but sharing info.

Yeah, I'm a little worried about that. At least my brother has a second story, but my aunt's place doesn't (where my uncle from Hammond is staying), but she does have an attic at least.

Yeah as already mentioned I don't believe in those news report from random chat members. Wait until we get actual officials or some first-hand evidence.
