Eye Character: Open in the west
Eye Shape: Concentric (has an inner and outer eye)
Inner Eye Diameter: 25 nautical miles (29 statute miles)
Outer Eye Diameter: 14 nautical miles (16 statute miles)
Isn't that inner and outer eye reversed? How is an inner eye larger than the outer eye

I think he literally means the storm’s warm core, not the cloud tops
exactly. GCANE is a BOSS on this board (as far as I'm concerned)
been digesting and revering his posts for decades.

The eye is in long range out of key west now.

Western Cuba has got to be one of the most hit places in the basin.

They got hit by a rapidly intensifying Ida last year. Camille ran over them. pretty much if I see a hurricane shoot the Yucatan channel or pass over western cuba...i feel like someone else downstream is highly likely to have a bad time.

This long range Key West radar gives me flashbacks to Charley.

I’m half expecting the inner eyewall to materialize out of nowhere again. Seriously, where did that even come from? Ian had a normal-sized 30nm eye and suddenly an inner eyewall appeared, like an anti-EWRC.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Gustav was another big one for that part of Cuba.

Do my eyes deceive me or did the track shift East on the NHC graphic for the 8 pm update when compared to the 5 pm?

No track update, but they do update the position. Notice the little tail turned E, that represents the 8pm position being E of the 5pm track.
