It's probably the inner eyewall bouncing, but Ian looks like he's moving directly north the last few frames.

Barely made it basically between two tornados. half mile to my west sustained damage. Got power flashes on video. Second tornado got really windy here for about a minute. Some roads are flooded with water. Probably over 2 inches of rain from those storms alone.
Biggest thing was the sense of dread, and second were the canals near my house being 3-4 feet above normal levels.

Agreed. It's wobbling around inside the new eye.

My phone keeps blowing up, saying "Evacuation notice for Levels A & B. I'm in DeSoto county. I don't think it pertains to us, but why are we getting the notice? Where is a map of the flood "levels" for SWFL?
I've never experienced this before with other 'canes that came our way. It's very disconcerting.

For South Florida, it’s been one after the other. Definitely reminds me of Ivan too in that regard.
Reminding us of Irma (funny they seem to be “I” storms)
Where our Sunday afternoon was one Tornado Warning after another.
We just had the Tornado Warning cell pass through here.
No tornado, just nonstop lightning and a burst of rain.
I-storms be like that I guess. Dang, those squalls are packing a punch minis the tornado.

Not that I want to get into politics, but Cuba has had problems with blackouts way before Ian, is probably more of an excuse to blame it on Ian.

"Oh itll be a tropical storm by the time it crosses florida"
I know. No one around here, south of Orlando will board up. Frankly, at that point all bets are off anyway. I just hope a tree branch doesn't come down on my car. A certain major employer around here is under the notion that their employees can come in at 6am and go home safely at noon. They are forgetting about the tornadoes.

Cuba's Instituto de Meteorologia website featuring their radar still seems to be online. It's creepy how large Ian's eye is...

First time in 16 hurricanes I heard and saw the Fists of God. Heard and saw them again in Michael. They are what destroy one tree but not another. One house but not the one next door. You have to see and feel them live to understand. Only in big big storms.
Cuomo on CNN was in his plush hotel room in Naples and I was with Marley the 3-legged dog down in the street when the eye passed over.
He (on live TV) tried to lecture me a bit from his perch above me. Asked me if my legal survival knife was big enough. It’s out there on You Tube somewhere but I made it clear I wasn’t too interested in being on camera. I just wanted to see downtown Naples before the opposite winds came.
It’s going to get very interesting very soon.
Chuck
Rail Dawg, you chased Laura in Lake Charles as well, right, or is my memory failing me (…again!)?
I’ll never forget your descriptions of “fists of god”. It’s a term I use now. Really no other way to convey the power these storm have.
Hoping that all in Ian’s paths have enacted proper plans and those who are staying are prepared for quite a storm.
Yes I did chase Hurricane Laura. I’m glad you use the “Fists of God” terminology. They will be seen and heard with Ian if anyone is in a safe position to observe and listen. It’s why I always chose parking lot garages. Outstanding Hurricane Observation Post. I’m retired from chasing so I can share even more secrets about chasing.
Am very concerned about folks not leaving.
Chuck
Ahhhh yes, the trusty parking garages

Looks like there’s a dry slot in Broward. So no rain at the moment, got caught in between two tornadoes.
