Re: ATL: FRANKLIN - Tropical Storm - Discussion
It's so odd to see a storm in this location move in this direction. It's like we're watching a rewind of a normal satellite feed. 2023 so far has been a bizarre year in the tropics.

Latest convective burst directly over the center. Could be a sign that shear is finally dropping.

Franklin is so sheared today that it looks to be on the verge of popping like Josephine ‘20.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Re: ATL: FRANKLIN - Tropical Storm - Discussion
Today started out nice and sunny. Now it is cloudy with occasional light rain showers. Franklin is coming back?

Hi Barbara. It moved more Eastsoutheastward than expected, but is forecast to turn to the north tonight and Saturday moving away from the islands.

Recon finding a stronger Franklin this evening, still not flying through the Deep Sheared Convection, has a nice strong SW inflow.

Winds up to 55, pressure down to 992, that‘s quite a drop

Weird. Last few frames, on IR of course, it appears like a center is now near 23.1 66.3, and moving wnw-nw. Either reformation/reorganization of center, or IR fool me? Probably just beginning that forecasted sharp northward turn, my guess.
