Upwelling, dry air and a possible ERC are causing really very severe effects on Cheneso today. Likely below hurricane status now

Down to 75 mph and their forecast of being Intense tropical cyclone phase is no longer there.

No longer forecast to be an intense cyclone. The models had this as a monster cyclone with pressures between 920 mbs and 930 mbs at peak but that wont happen.

Cheneso as of 830z, I wouldn't call it a bust it's still avery damaging tropical cyclone on Madagascar and Africa with the rain and flooding from it been stalled.

The latest GFS run has it start gaining in strength as it moves away to the south. For those interested I use GRIB software in my case LuckGrib to download and visualise the GFS run and allow me to zoom in on Cheneso.
