Looking at the NHC Outlook graphic, I wonder if any of these systems will eventually merge together?

Rumors of TD11s demise were greatly exaggerated lol. Now we got Jose. This has been one of those systems that refuses to quit and defies the forecast. Kinda like epsilon 2005

Who remembers the last time this name was used? The only monster major hurricane of 2017 that didn't hit anything; although there was a brief scare that it might clip the northern Leewards that had just been battered by Irma.

Also, it's presence caused the infamous Maria to have the track to PR.

Looks good, I would estimate 45 kt/1004 mb for now.
Shear should increase tonight and finally kill Jose.

Yeah it's trying to form a little eye feature. I feel like Jose is much stronger right now.

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

Looks 45knots...I could see it strengthen to 50knts if current developments continue for another 6-8 hours.

Reminds me a little of Beryl 2018 which was a similar size and had a similar appearance. Almost like a subtropics version :D

Jose is starting to look like a microcane. Dvorak estimates do not do well with small storms could easily be much stronger than estimated.

Waters are quite warm as well; will be passing over into 29C+ waters if not already.

Unsurprisingly (based on recent trends) has a developing core.

Based on that microwave I'd go 55knots.

The NHC best track has this at 40 knots, but the latest NHC advisory has this at 35 knots. What gives?

If conditions don't become too unfavorable as I believe this will be under decent conditions for another 6-8 hours and in fact I'd go as far as to suggest that Franklin is building up an poleward outflow channel for jose currently and so I wouldn't be shocked to see this become a hurricane for an advisory or two.

Given the tiny size and lack of data, I suspect Dvorak is underestimating it as it does poorly with small storms. I'd assess the intensity at 50 kt right now.
