Poor Margot isn't getting any attention, but that's the best it had looked. Well on track to add to the season's hurricane count (which has been somewhat lacking compared to average).

?

Current hurricane count is 4 and the average for the date is 3.4. So it's actually slightly above average before factoring in the context of strengthening moderate nino

On average the fourth hurricane forms 16 Sept. As you stated Margot is well on track to become our fifth. Average fifth hurricane forms 28 Sept

Latest NHC advisory has this moving an incredible 55 miles between day-4 and day-5, an average of 2.3mph over this period, all at hurricane strength. Margot could be a substantial ACE producer when all is said and done, as we might be dealing with this thing for another 7-10 days.

Given that (at least according to the Lee model discussion I've read) a strong Margot would pull Lee eastward away from the East Coast, it'd be in our best interest for it to overperform, especially since Margot itself won't get close to any land, at least in the short term.

Looks solid, just needs to mix out that dry slot and wrap convection around the north side and it should be ready to go for more significant strengthening. Not sure if it can become a major but it might get pretty close. Would be nice to have an OTS major.

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

From sickly and frail to possibly 100 mph. :bd:

Actually come to think of it she probably wasn't really all that frail.

I am only a tropical weather enthusiast. My predictions are not official and may or may not be backed by sound meteorological data. For official information, please refer to the NHC and NWS products.
