18z GFS has 964 mb just offshore, just like 12z... :double:

Edit: This run does weaken it to 967 mb at landfall, unlike 12z which continued deepening down to 957 mb.

974 is typically Cat 2. So strong hit on the US. That’s basically Morgan City, Franklin, (Lydia, Patterson, Centerville, Bayou Vista as well)

Good luck Louisiana friends. I've seen enough today to think we'll likely have a hurricane making landfall there on Wednesday. Probably somewhere along the south central coast. I was a little concerned Houston could get hit again but that looks very unlikely now.

Models have definitely trended stronger today. I feel like cat 1 is most likely but definitely can't rule out a cat 2.

Based on the comments thank goodness SE Tx is out of the mix. Praying for Louisiana.

If you live near Beaumont you’ll probably still get some wind and a little rain outta it, but nothing crazy. For most of SETX this will be a nonevent. Will have to watch the coastal areas though for some flooding from the surge and high tides.

Pretty good Cameron Parish consensus there which is in my range but perhaps 40-60 miles west of what I think.

Anywhere between there and Grand Chenier is a good bet.

18z EURO ensembles, looks like half of the members are near Vermilion Bay, but also as many members are now clustered in SELA, at least that what it looks like to me.
