Does the slower motion trend factor in at all on direction? Here in Tampa area, forecast for Thursday to Saturday shows what looks to be first legitimate cold front of the season. Does delayed approach mean the approaching front may block further N movement?

VDM now has the "Ragged Eye" tag on it instead of an Open EW. Its also shrinking fast now down to 20 nm

I just keep reminding myself we’ve got supplies, fuel for my generator, and we’re ~100 miles from where it will come on shore. Always hate this stuff, but trying to avoid doom scrolling and being a worrier. It won’t change what happens and just puts additional stress on me.

I said it last night but I’ll say it again.
Anyone in a surge zone inside that cone should evacuate, especially for Pasco south to Marco. Don’t wait until it’s too late!

Finally, time away from work lol. This storm and it's evolution, and the relative short fuse to landfall has been challanging to stay on top of and digest with just a few minutes early and middle of the day. By the time I try and squeeze in veviewing recon data, a quick glimpse of satellite, or read the discussion.... a few hours go by and everything is changing already
This morning I was considering Cedar Key as an outside landfall - Now I'm equally wondering about Naples/Ft Myers given the south component of motion and present east track. Gonna be a couple of CRAZY days and sleepless nights ahead

Contrary to present motion, the NE/ SW orientation of the overall envelope suggests to me that it's forward track should begin to start gaining a little latitude quite soon.

Using an embedded center pattern its closing in on a T5.0. Should be a cat.2 soon.

I was at Costco in Altamonte 18 mins after it opened. The line was already starting at the back of the store and water was gone.
Wal-Mart in DeSoto is only allowing one One Gallon of water per customer.
Sure glad we went shopping yesterday. Besides, we always have several cases of water on hand.
