Yes, it's now excellent at predicting warm fronts near the south pole on July 4th, when it's a Wednesday. Otherwise, it is worse.

I'm quite sure that snow storm for the DFW area on the 5th of January will happen. Something is definitely making the GFS act very strangely of late. I don't think I've ever seen it perform so poorly.

Even FWD picked up on that this morning

It is pretty sad how terrible its been

Dont forget it totally blew the rain event Tuesday here too so its not just cold and snow...

So I'm just a little curious, when does this weekend's "disruptive" weather event begin? :D

The 12z Euro control run has a N. Texas snow storm in the longer range and now the 18z GFS & GEFS are back in the game. Time is running out for N. Texas to cash in on winter wx system. If the MJO rolls around to 2/3, like the models are showing, then we will probably see even warmer temps up in WCAN but there should be more of a western mean trough. That probably means more cold rains unless we can time something up just perfectly.

We don’t need a sexy ice or snow storm this far out it seems like 9 Times out of 10 those will bust lol.. At least the trend is there! Remember guys and gals with a little perfect timing we could still squeeze out something big imo before the New year!

Least the GFS says we don't get much above 50 the next week. Which quietly kills the post Christmas torch from a few days ago.
