looks like outflows about to collide right over Houston, just in time to create some fun for the PM commuters.
Too bad it's south of me though and will possibly cutoff any chance for future development up north for me. That outflow moving south thru northern Harris will kill those chances. I don't get how those little piddly showers from earlier produced such a strong/pronounced outflow boundry........ugh......the drought Gods will win again it looks like.

I was wondering that too. And it set off quite a slew of showers on the SW side of the metro. I didn't get anything this round. Looks like we will be back in the 100's by Friday.
NOT!!!
Well, it looks like the same thing is hapening today, just further south.
And we know those showers this AM didn't really produce much of an outflow, at least one with any 'oomph' to it.
But I think it's clear now what is happening: it's just differential heating causing the leftover outflow/cooler air to rush south, and at the same time causing the seabreeze from the south to move north. I can see it on radar right now.....it's just the differential heating is so pronouced, those boundries are starting to react to the heat and move.
