Hopefully you're near Comeaux High School, crazy! It didn't rain a drop at Pinhook/Kaliste Saloom. Heard the thunder though. The cloud cover felt nice, dropped the temps a good bit.

We've had some light rain, lots of lightning, but so far most of the rain has been dancing around my location.

* AT 605 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
VERY HEAVY RAIN FROM THUNDERSTORMS IN AND AROUND THE HOUSTON AREA

Well You are blonde!!!

Once the dome failed here we got 1" in about 15 minutes. Seems to have let up now, which is good because at that rate we were heading for some heavy localized flooding. With dark, hopefully it is now raining itself out and we will be ok.

I was under my carport at around 7:45 cleaning a bunch of speckled trout and all heck broke loose with lots of lightning and a darn good downpour. Very nice.

Dark didn't kill the storms. It's been storming here for a while now - lots of thunder and lightning. That ULL in the Texas Panhandle (Oklahoma now?) should give us more of the same tomorrow. I believe it's drifting ever so slowly to the east.

I love the lightning show. It sure is soggy around here though!

Well it is now past midnight and we are still getting rain. We're only up to 1.5" so far, thank goodness. If it had kept up like it started we'd be floating down the bayou by now!!!

I've heard that there might be storms overnight and into the morning. I would keep an eye this afternoon.

I got a paltry .12" yesterday but it poured all around me. I expect today will be quite stormy.

From Jeff Lindner:

As proven yesterday afternoon, the air mass is very moist and capable of very heavy rainfall in a short period of time.

Cut off upper low over W OK this morning will drift SSE over the next 48 hours providing good lift of a very moist air mass. The result will be numerous clusters of slow moving thunderstorms capable of dropping 2-3 inches of rainfall in a hour or less. Trigger temps. in the mid 80’s should get things going just after noon today with storms likely continuing into the late evening hours. MCA over C TX may also move into the area.

So far rainfall amounts, while they have been very heavy, they have been fairly localized and not everyone has seen the dumping that happened in NW Houston yesterday. However thunderstorm coverage will be increasing today and Saturday and grounds will gradually saturate leading to more run-off. A Flash Flood Watch may be required for portions of the area later today or on Saturday.

Tropics:
Broad area of low pressure over the W Caribbean Sea is mainly void of thunderstorms activity this morning and the recon. has been cancelled. Conditions will become more favorable for development as the system moves toward the NW into the Gulf of Mexico and upper level wind shear relaxes.

I would keep an eye on this outlfow boundry as it pushes SE today. Also, note the upper 80's in Houston and only 60's NW of I-35. (Houston is at the lower right of the image).:
