Well You are blonde!!!
Once the dome failed here we got 1" in about 15 minutes. Seems to have let up now, which is good because at that rate we were heading for some heavy localized flooding. With dark, hopefully it is now raining itself out and we will be ok.
As proven yesterday afternoon, the air mass is very moist and capable of very heavy rainfall in a short period of time.
Cut off upper low over W OK this morning will drift SSE over the next 48 hours providing good lift of a very moist air mass. The result will be numerous clusters of slow moving thunderstorms capable of dropping 2-3 inches of rainfall in a hour or less. Trigger temps. in the mid 80’s should get things going just after noon today with storms likely continuing into the late evening hours. MCA over C TX may also move into the area.
So far rainfall amounts, while they have been very heavy, they have been fairly localized and not everyone has seen the dumping that happened in NW Houston yesterday. However thunderstorm coverage will be increasing today and Saturday and grounds will gradually saturate leading to more run-off. A Flash Flood Watch may be required for portions of the area later today or on Saturday.
Tropics:
Broad area of low pressure over the W Caribbean Sea is mainly void of thunderstorms activity this morning and the recon. has been cancelled. Conditions will become more favorable for development as the system moves toward the NW into the Gulf of Mexico and upper level wind shear relaxes.
