Breaking News: Return to New Orleans halted because of Rita
I think this was a great move by Mayor Nagin. He also advised those who returned to Algiers to prepare to evacuate again on Wednesday.

I agree. Just waiting to see how long they would procrastinate on it. Seems they don't want to take any chances which is a good thing. Like I said earlier once Rita enters the Gulf if she heads towards south LA she will only be three days away and that is not enough time for everyone to prepare and go out and get enough supplies. Traffic is horrible, stores are half empty with normal everyday groceries, and just about nothing of emergency supplies. Alos no hotel rooms to be found along gulf coast. If people think Katrina preparations were a pain just wait if a cat3/4 Rita takes aim on us.

That's the I-10/I-110 split, off the Mississippi River bridge in Baton Rouge. It's pretty much looked like that for all but the wee hours of the morning for the last 3 weeks.
