INVESTS 98B and 93S...something you don't see every day...

While it's actually a recognized and somewhat common phenomenon to have TCs form at the same longitude north and south of the equator in the Indian and Western Pacific Oceans (I believe related to equatorial wind surges) it normally isn't with both storms within 4 degrees of the equator :-)

Not that either will necessarily form...neither looks really well organized. Pretty unusual though.

Both systems have a decent chance of merging and later on developing south of the equator....interesting indeed.

Its called twins and its fairly common in the WPac.
