Hi everyone - great to be back !!!!
Just a quick observation it seems that in reviewing this morning satellite loop off Africa we may have a mid to low level circulation at approx 10N 20W. Even more interesting is the fact that there is a good outflow (high pressure aloft) and thunderstorm activity is increasing on the northern flank.
We'll see how the day develops and what the NHC has to say...

Hi, stormernie! Glad to see you're back.
I noticed the same thing about that tropical "low" this morning. It looks like the previous tropical wave moistened up the area and is serving as a blocking guard for this next system. Like you said, thunderstorm development over water is a good sign. I'm not quite optimistic yet, as we still have marginal SSTs in the area, but we do have below normal sea-level pressures and dry air is not as huge of a factor now in the E. Atlantic.
2 more weeks and we'll be watching almost every single wave in the E. Atlantic for good chances of developing...
