Interesting comment via AccuWeather concerning tropics

from meteorologist Henry Margasitti:

They mentioned "we had three tropical systems a year ago - this year we have none. What is really interesting is that because there's no systems out there - you have all this potential energy - heating that ocean up, the waves out there have been moving pretty fast - so the oceans are really heating up. There hasn't been allot of cloudcover - so there's allot of energy tabable for one strong system to come along and tap into all the heat and humidity down there. So what it does - are we gonna have some of those big hurricanes or not ? I'm not sure yet, but from what I can see it just looks like there's allot of energy to tab and it will be curious to see what the first storm is going to tab into."

At this time last year we had 4 tropical systems already; Ana, Bill, Claudette, & Danny.
