I moved to Everett 2 years ago after growing up in the Burg! Here's a link to a Photo Journal of the flooding:

I'm located about 5 miles north of the Shaler and Aetna areas which are flooded. I collect water for my gardens and the barrel had 8" in it this morning. Many, many roads were closed due to flooding and many more major roads (including the Pa Turnpike) were closed due to landslides and flooding. The ground was so saturated due to the rain from Frances last week that Ivan's rains had nowhere to go. We have three major rivers here, the Monongahela and the Allegheny which meet in downtown Pittsburgh to form the Ohio river. The Mon and Ohio have not crested as yet.
It's great to see so many Pittsburgh natives here.

On the NWS site, the Alleghany river is flooding just as bad as the other 2 rivers. The Ohio River is expected to crest some 8-10' above flood stage in some areas. Wheeling Island and many small communities along the river will be under water this evening. Comparing this flood to the Flood of 1996.

Yins better believe it!
Hey Pburgh, please keep us informed. I'm not too worried about my relatives because they live up the hill in Oakmont. Still, they're really old and I worry that the people who take care of them won't be able to make it to the Hulton Bridge on Route 28.

The Ohio River crested at 31.5 feet. Flood stage is 25 feet. The Point is flooded. Basements in the downtown area are also getting water. Flagirl, many roads are still closed. The town just south of me is still flooded and many business' on Route 8 were completely destroyed. It's my understanding that the Main Street in Carnegie is totally destroyed also. One man is still missing and presumed drown.
My prayers go out to all of Ivan's victims.
