Rita Center on NWS Miami Radar
A center is starting to show just SSE of Andros. It looks like the center is wobbling NNW though
Please confirm what I am seeing:

It doesnt matter. If we're looking more than the typical 124nm range on radar, its giving you a false perception. The long range is not good for tracking a storm. Its OK for an overview of whats happening, but not recommended for plotting its movememnt.

What you're seeing is almost certainly an effect of the skewing of long-range radar out of Miami. It's like trying to move your head one direction but having your body move another direction...see what I mean?

Don't forget that the cone is ONLY where the center might be! But so far, it does look okay for S. FL, and not so much for the Keys. Long as it stays on the current track, anyway. Still, it won't be a walk in the park for S. FL, either.
