David, you'll have times in your life that are both good and bad ... but suicide should
NEVER be an option ... remember to think about the ones you love and the ones that love you the most and how it would affect them as well. I'm very happy to see that you chose not to attempt suicide.
Everyone here knows life isn't fair and plays by its own rules, but just remember to grab life by the throat sometimes because it's the only one you get, and do the best to make it best you can ...
There are many of us that are here, including myself, which have been down some very rough times, and some of us including myself wondering about the very same thing ... I'll tell you, though, that I may not necessarily be a very happy person, I've had some very good times, and some very special memories including my meeting with someone I met from another message board (believe it or not) and she and I shared a weekend which gave both of us a lifetime of memories in just 2 short days. The moral of my post here is, don't sell yourself out before you've really had a chance to experience the best things that life can offer ... and follow your dreams and reach for the stars...
