My next door neighbor already has Christmas lights up. Went around the neighborhood and there are already a few homes with Christmas lights up.
Went to Costco today, haven't been there in two weeks. Two weeks ago, there was already a Christmas tree near the entrance. Now there's a plethora of Christmas decorations in the food area.
Christmas starts earlier every year.

Retailers in Houston, like Garden Ridge Pottery (or Garbage Ridge as Dave calls it) Kirkland's, and even some nurseries started stocking Christmas items around August 1. Gross! The decorating crazies are bumping up on the Halloween decorations in recent years. Some have more lights out now than they do at Christmas, and all kinds of Cheap Shite from China (another Davism) strewn over their lawns. Shoot, I have a hard enough time with the annual archeological dig for the Christmas decorations without adding another holiday to deal with. I'll just stick with my fake jack-o-lantern (more CS from China!) in the window.

Walmart is early. I went in there about 3 weeks ago and bought Christmas decorations. They have new ones this year too.
Now, I have all these decorations and missed one minor detail, I do not have a Christmas tree. lol. I used to have the fiber optic artifical tree but lost it to you know who. I may get a real one this year.

Pretty soon we'll see xmas celebrated after July 4th, with Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving sharing merch shelving space. You see all of the large retailers just chomping at the bit to pull out all the xmas merch. K-Mart alone has had their xmas trees, decorated to boot, up for over a month now. No lie.

The city of Pinetop Lakeside ALREADY has the town Christmas tree up, the city decorated...it's sicking the way the retailers are ruining Christmas but ya know what? I'm going to wish EVERYONE a "Merry Christmas" and NOT happy holidays this year
