Re: ATL: ETA - Hurricane - Discussion
The eye is wobbling around pretty dramatically. Indicative of a very rapidly intensifying hurricane.

ETA appears to be built for longevity....I have read several different analysis of the cyclone...and some say that ETA may be active until Veterans Day, the 11th!....

Yeah I'm changing my prediction to 140kts/925mb... There's nothing really stopping it until landfall at this point. Cat 5 coming...

WSW forward direction needs to shift to SW, in the next 6 hours to match current track..

Lightning in the eyewall now - another classic RI indicator.

Downslope from the Mountains may impart some light Mid-Level shear I think.

Re: ATL: ETA - Hurricane - Discussion
I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a strong Category 4, nearing Category 5 intensity! The late season storms this year have been UNBELIEVABLE and have been nothing but quality. What a historic season. I still can’t get over the fact that we are seeing a storm like Eta in November!!

I remember that storm! Man, I kinda miss 2007 right now lol. Can't believe it was 13 years ago.
With all the talk of Cat 5 and everything, it's crazy to think how Felix was the last Atlantic Cat 5 until Matthew in 2016. They didn't used to happen every year...but anyways.

Haven't been following the storm for a few hours so I know this question must have been asked many times already, but what's the current state with recon? Is there recon underway and if not when is it planned?

The eye REALLY warmed. Latest frames is hard to tell on the eye temp. because it's very small!
Latest GFS model run shows Eta making a Florida Landfall on November 14.

Cloud tops cooling to -80C around a lot of the eye now. I’m running out of reasons to say this isn’t at least verging on cat5 without recon around to confirm

Gotta be kidding me. Probably the strongest storm of the Atlantic Hurricane season happening right now

It seems that really intense storms coming yearly packs. Like you have a few years where you have a lot of intense storms and then a few years where you don't have any or barely any.

If I had to peg it, I'd say 110 knots right now.
