Gas Just Went Up Again!!

At this rate it will take only 5 more hikes to get to $3.00 a gallon

Stopped for gas in Alabama last night and it was $2.45. This is getting ridiculous.

Greedy, greedy oil companies. They showed a profit in the billions last quarter.

My husband went to HomeDepot last week and bought another 2 large red plastic gas containers. Now we have four and they are all full. We do this for hurricane season, but looks like with the gas prices going up, a good idea to do now.

Driving around yesterday, I saw a 25 cent spread around town. Places that were always in the mainstream or lower are now higher than most others. It's almost as if the station operators are just guessing when they post the prices. This is beginning to look more and more like the crisis of the early '80s.

On the other hand, hopefully this will spur an outcry for alternative fuels and better fuel efficiency standards, so I can't say I'm totally upset.

I say pump our own oil. Pump Alaska. Texas,California. If we went cheap gas we can't be expecting the middle east to give it to us. In we got problems with China,India taking alot of it to. So we should pump our own. It would be the a good idea.

Drilling in the ANWR, offshore in CA/FL, exploiting the oil shale and oil bearing sand deposits in WY/MT are all verboten because of oppostion from the environmental groups. Curiously, Canada does exploit their oil bearing sands which is why they have oil to send to us. Then we give billions in tax credits to the energy and oil companies to develop alternative fuel sources which will never happen. That's like giving a pimp money to keep his girls off the streets except that the companies are the pimps and the DC Politicians (including Bush) are the Whores.

My wife's mother was up north last week, she said it was $2.79 a gallon. Where we live it is $2.40-$2.60.

Until Bush straightens out the mess he has caused in the Middle East it will remain high. China is also a big part of the problem. We can't refine it fast enough. Those plants are old and none have been built in over 20 years. There have been 10 unscheduled closings this year. The same plant in Texas City has had an explosion and a recent fire. All these come into factor for the price. Just wait until Labor Day when the $67 bbl gas hits the stations for you to buy. How about $3.29 for the highest in the nation right now at:

The middle east is a mess but you can't blame bush...Bush walked into a another's administrations failures...He's done the best he knows after 9/11 I can only imagine the mess if those other guys were elected...The middle east has always hated us and I don't see that changing in my life time....

I think our reg unleaded here was 2.45 when I filled up today; the attendent asked me if I filled the tank and when I replied affirmatively said "good, it's going up again tomorrow".
