Stalking

Have you ever been stalked or had a very uncomfortable feeling with a person by you?

I was on an elevator when I was a teenager visiting my father in the hospital. I was on the elevator alone with a man. The man just stared at me all over my body and I was beginning to panic. It was a short time, but long enough to scare me. I actually think that was the only time I ever felt uncomfortable about being alone with a person. I never even thought I was ever followed on the street. I got crazy telephone calls, but never threatening.

While in college at Auburn I had two stalking cases happen to me or someone I knew. The first happen the first year I was at Auburn. Actually the first quarter. I met this guy. Went to have coffee with him and from that point he thought he owned me. He would wait at the dorm for me. If I wasn't there he wanted to know exactly where I had been etc. It got to the point that we had to asked the campus police to put a restraining order out against him that if he came near my dorm or me that he would be arrested. It seemed to work because I never saw him again.

Years later my roommate was dating this guy. He asked her to marry and she said no. She was a freshman in college and was planning to finish her college career. Plus she was only 17. Smart girl! Well he started to stalk her. It was horrible. I felt so sorry for her. She was afraid to stay at her own apartment on campus because he would leave her alone. He waited for her outside her classes. He waited outside the apartment complex at Auburn. He would call nonstop at all hours. The downfall one morning was when he came up to the room and started acting like a nutcase. He started banging on the door and yelling. She wasn't there but I was. I called the police but before they got there several of the neighbors came out and escorted him downstairs and restrained him till the police got there. I had some wonderful neighbors in college. My roommate eventually moved back in and I think she even went on to graduate with honors.
