logged out while writing post

#1 Postby bvigal » Mon Aug 15, 2005 10:37 am

I just finished writing a very detailed post which took me 1/2 hour, and then it asked for my password, and I lost the entire post! I know can't rewrite it, it was something very special and poignant, and I won't try. Yes, I should have saved it, but had no idea the forum had the capability to log me out and lose it.

But for future reference, can someone tell me what is the time period for staying logged in? I can't figure it out, sometimes I'm logged in for hours.

I've had that happen once or twice before (not sure why...Marshall or Chad can probably address that issue).

However, a suggestion -- (It works sometimes when something happens and my post doesn't post and I don't want to lose it) -- try hitting your "Back" button. Most times, here and on other forums I've been on, you can go back to the "Post a reply" screen and your text will still be there.

I'm sorry you lost such a great post. I'm sure we would have enjoyed reading it.

Thanks for your help!!! :D

I did rewrite the post. It was about America the Beautiful, for the favorite patriotic song poll. Don't think it was a good as the first one I wrote, but still gets the point across, so no matter!
