Anyone think sarasota/tampa area will get a hurricane ...
by the time the season is over? Is it true that august till oct are the time of year we get gulf storms? I was in Tampa last year when charley was supposed to hit, and then hit my family in port charlotte and punta gorda instead. I remember being on edge for 2 months last year.

Yes, but last year I didn't feel safe at all when Frances came across the state to us. Since then I will never feel completely safe again whenever there is a storm out there.

Yes, but last year I didn't feel safe at all when Frances came across the state to us. Since then I will never feel completely safe again whenever there is a storm out there.
that's true for everyone from brownsville to Hatteras...

i know. isnt it such a coincidence that whenever a storm approaches FL from the Atlantic, there is somehow always some kind of front or weakness in ridge to turn the system northward sparing South Florida? Its such a coincidence.

Yes. But when Frances made landfall on the East Coast of Florida, I didn't think she would make such a huge impact here. That is the lesson I learned.
