Looks to me that it's almost a tie. The damage to the I-10 Eastbound bridge likely ran the tab up on Ivan.

The discrepancy could be insured losses versus total losses. Just a guess.

wow I saw the costliest hurricane list and all that hype as Gloria moved toward the east coast and not even a billion in damage

I do think Charley and Ivans totals will go up a bit more

Dennis will be on that list too

and I just noticed that Hugo was passed 3 times

wow just shows how bad last season was 4 out of the 6 costliest storms were last year

all I can say is wow! I sincerly hope that no hurricane tops Andrew for the costliest spot cause that would be catastropic beyond imagination.
