I know, I know... I kinda hate posting another "Look at this wave about to roll off of Africa!" thread, but things are so darn slow right now and I believe this is the one the models have been referencing for a few days now. These look so promising and then fizzle when they roll off the coast. I guess eventually one will make it, right?

1 makes it right off the African coast each year it seems, but I could be wrong

SAL and sheer has badly hurt the Cape Verde season, and will continue to do so. Expect more "homegrown" systems from the Carribbean, and West Atlantic. This is why we won't have 20 named storms---15-16 is more like it.

One waved was rolling off early yesterday morning (big wave, little convection), another one is coming off today, and the big daddy is coming off Saturday or Sunday. That might be our first early developer.
