Just a reminder to all.
For those "complaining" about the lack of activity in August just remember that it ONLY takes one major hurricane to destroy many, many lives. I think we should all be thankful and count our blessings that August has been quite cause September and even October probably won't. Though I still don't think we will exceed 15 named storms. I hope I'm right.

Matt, how many times are you going to repeat this this season? I think I have lost count. I fully understand how you feel. Please give it a rest!!Matt-hurricanewatcher wrote:Thats the risk of living in there paths on the coast. That is a fact of life...
And could you please explain what this has to do with the topic of the thread?

I totally understand where you are coming from, but remember that alot of us(me included) would be just as happy with alot of cat 1/cat 2 storms. We don't need anything above that, we just want some action!!!

Love tracking storms. Love it. Love learning from the discussions here. It's boring now but the peak is coming.
And if the season ended tomorrow and next season started a new 30 year lull, I'd thank the heavens and go sailing more.
Not knocking anyone's enthusiasm either. Weather is an awesome thing.

This post was from August of last year, and before Hurricane Katrina. You thought the 2005 season would not go over 15 named storms, but it went to 28 named storms in the end. You were wrong like everyone else. This is a creepy post because this was just before Hurricane Katrina hit.

Wow! This is a great example of how things quickly change, and remain the same.

The posts or stuff said are NOT an official forecast and my opinion alone. Please look to the NHC and NWS for official forecasts and products.
Model Runs Cheat Sheet:
GFS (5:30 AM/PM, 11:30 AM/PM)
HWRF, GFDL, UKMET, NAVGEM (6:30-8:00 AM/PM, 12:30-2:00 AM/PM)
ECMWF (1:45 AM/PM)
TCVN is a weighted averaged
Opinions my own.

Yeah it is VERY creepy. I never did think we would go over 15 but I should have known better because the signs were there. I still think this
season will be more like 15 and not 28 hopefully without a Katrina type storm.

i agree with you to a point... however, i get tired of hearing the same thing over and over of how it only takes one... we need a new phrase... i think that one is worn out....
