This is at 384 hours, so of course isn't worth the cost of the pixels it takes to display it ... but ...



Let's see ... one system over South Florida (that's the wave emerging off Africa now - note the Euro makes that a fish in 7 days) ... a stronger one near Bermda headed towards New England ... a third in the mid-Atlantic ... a fourth moving west well south of that ... and a strong wave coming off Africa.

Hmmm, 384 hours, that would be just about Labor Day wouldn't it? Something about Labor Day always makes me think of hurricanes, like the two are somehow linked together. I remember Labor Day last year very, very well!!

These are always so much fun to look at, I just haven't had the patience to go pull up the NCEP site. 5 storms for labor day if that wave developed.

I'd say "yeah, right" if this wasn't this year.

Well I don't think we'll see this verify, but I DO think the GFS is starting to pick-up on the pattern change as we head into the "peak" of the season.

I truly think a week from now it'll be a LOT less "boring" than the past week or so has been.

Still think it's way, WAY too early to call the high numbers for this season a bust, as is going-on in some of the other theads. A couple of weeks of realtive calm in this pattern doesn't equal a slow season....

I there's a hurricane crossing the Keys and I'm under the right side, you should be here helping me keep heaven from coming into my bedroom.

If this wasn't 384 hours out, I'd have that sick feeling now.

When I checked last night, the convection over Africa near the coast was looking pretty impressive. Florida would have a lot to worry about with one to the south and one approaching the Bahamas -- though if the low also comes across that second system would be heading north.[/quote]

whoa I have a feeling that there will be something big in two weeks for real (but you shouldnt always trust my crystal ball; it sometimes whacks out on me )... the GFS has had this one huge storm in its forecast for the past 2 days...
