To answer your question (6 months later...but, hey, better late than never, eh? :) ) -- YES!!!!!

From TVGuide.com's Ask Ausiello column:
Question: Will Sharif Atkins (Dr. Gallant) be coming back to ER? I want to know what happens with him and Neela! — Katie

Ausiello: Yes, it's very likely we'll see Sharif/Gallant again this season, although David Zabel says "it wouldn't be a major story line."

Ditto on this new ER couple. Not much is appealing to me about ER, but these two could interest me. They are perfect. And Gallant is very similar to former Mark Greene/early John Carter bedside manners and medical ethics....
