The waning sun??

#1 Postby jasons2k » Fri Aug 19, 2005 3:18 pm

OK, I just want to see if this has happened to anyone besides me...

Have you ever walked outside at 3:00 on an August or September afternoon and noticed, very suddenly, the sun isn't as bright, the shadows are longer, the "tone" of the sky seems more orangish and less 'bright white' and it looks like fall is on the way??

Just asking b/c I just went for a stroll outside and all of a sudden it looks fallish outside as described above...

Does it here sometimes when the humidity is way up. We have dew points in the lower 70's right now.

Yeah it's still very hot here too  Prob will be for another month.

I just noticed the shadows off the trees pointed very far to the north and were very long, first time I've noticed that since maybe March or April...

Fall? What's that?

If the sun is out at all here in Miami, it's pretty much guaranteed to be bright. 8-) 8-)

wow... the eastern two thirds of the country sure is sporting a variety of weather conditions... severe thunderstorms across the heart-land and into NY with a tornado watch in affect in NY... heat advisories up in most of the south and central... and yet... frost advisories were up last night in Maine and here in NH we dropped into the 40s also. today barely broke 70, low humidity...
