Convection has really blossomed this afternoon - unlike yesterday, Favorable environment, mid-level circulation, high SSTs, late August, Active Season. What me worried? :roll:

For what its worth, the latest model runs.

Yeah, I agree. Having lived in the state for 20 years, this wave just makes me curious. I didn't wet my pants until Charlie last year and that veered away at the last hour.

it could easily EXPLODE in the gulf....VERY WARM waters and very low shear.....

well its a long way out if its going to affect us at all, so now its the waiting game. i say just have a good weekend and check in once a day to see whats happening

its looking better by the hour now that the shear has let up...let's see if this convection is a burst or is persistent....I would tend to think it's persistent given how the shear has lessened substantially since yesterday.

Yes, there is rotation but it may just be a mid-level remnant of TD 10...I don't think it's at the surface yet :?:

This thing is definitely trying to organize....I don't care what the NHC has to say about it...I expect a depression within 24 hours.

If you're nervous about this little wave, things must be pretty DEAD in the tropics. It will most likely be a rain event for Florida late next week. There will be much more to get nervous about in the next month or so I'm sure. 8-)

My suggestion is to watch it, but don't get worried or concern. It has just as much chance, if not more, of becoming nothing at all.

As others have said, given its unclassified, that surely should make people a little more comfortable and not too worried.
