Just a Little to Quiet.........The Edge

#1 Postby KatDaddy » Sat Aug 20, 2005 3:31 pm

The tropics are very omnious currently. The first part of the season brought rapid development of systems and now as we enter the peak of the season all is quiet......very quiet.....omniously quiet. Nothing is developing even though the potential has been there to generate tropical cyclones. We have watched systems just fade away. At this point many posters are wondering if the season is over.............NO WAY. The tropics are ready to burst over the next week and things could change very rapidly from day to day. Sure the NW Caribbean and Ex-TD10 look harmless however we must remember this is the beginning of the peak. Nothing should be taken lightly in the tropics. We should all have hurricane kits ready along the Gulf Coast and Eastern Seaboard. You just never know. Lets hope for no tropical threats for the rest of the season.

I feel like I'm living on the edge! I'm selling my house and am supposed to close somewhere between September 10th and the 15th. That's an ominous time anywhere on the coastline. I'm with you - there's this sense, or dread, that there is going to be an explosion of activity just around the corner.

thats what I fear. In 1998 Bonnie didnt form until August 20th and the season had 14 named storms. So just cause its quiet now doesnt mean the rest will be.
