I do not understand is it EX TD 10 or the convection off the SE coast. I do not see anything else moving to that area.

Yes, it is very possible. I expect it to move across S. Florida and into the western Gulf and become a hurricane at some point. That all depends on how much of FL it will cross. If it stays in the straits expect a much better chance of a hurricane.

Well I don't see how a building high pressure is going to induce tropical development.. of course it may affect the steering if there were a storm..of which there is not at this point..

Vigilant..yes we have been doing that for a couple months..no reason to stop now..Prime Time just started..

perhaps its because of that cluster of showers/storms that is just sitting off the SC/NC coast right now.

my problem with this thread is she states in her title - issued- making it seem that the NHC has issued an alert - which they have not - very misleading and sensationalizing in my opinion.

there does not seem to be anything wrong with this thread. RS posted her opinion and gave the 2k disclaimer. Thread seems just fine

thanks for unlocking it. it has already been edited, thanks. what i was looking for was a huge high. the jb rule says huge highs cause lower pressure under them. today it does look like ex td 10 is flaring up. i still expect development somewhere in the sw atlantic

You are correct... Joe states that when you get pressures building to the north and that causes pressures to fall "underneath." We saw some of this very action last year with Alex that came as pressures were building to the north and a trough came through and split and left a piece behind as well as with Gaston. I think he has said the same Could happen with the trough headed to the east now.. we do have several areas in the tropical Atlantic now. With that, as pressures rise and waves in the area, who knows... But so far this season has been a strange one..

Yes, I agree with you totally, it seems like this season we're going to have to watch every area of thunderstorms that form out there... Its going to be a long remainder of this season, I have the sodas ready, (I hate coffee) lol...
