Watching the Tropics????

#1 Postby LaBreeze » Sun Aug 21, 2005 8:25 pm

Local met out of Lake Charles, LA mentioned last night on his two week forecast that we may be "watching the tropics" here around the 28th, 29th, or 30th. Did anyone else see this, or is a common prediction that others may have knowledge of? I realize that anything can develop and happen at this point, but I noticed this and was wondering if anyone else did also. Comments anyone?

Global models are still developing the disturbance north of Hispaniola in a week or so...moving it near south Florida and the eastern GOM.

That is probably what they are referring to..of course...whether anything happens or not remains to be seen. They just won't give up on that wave.

Thanks for the reply. That's pretty much the synopsis that I was thinking. We'll have to wait and see.
