:( yup, that day and the following ones will forever be ingrained in my mind.

The sounds of things tearing apart, concrete cracking, and that horrible HOWL of wind. Seeing dense palm trees with items lodged in them, boats, cars, etc. moved incredible distances by WIND! That is the storm that got me into weather. ;)

Looks more like it'll pass through the straits...
I would think that the GOM'ers need to be MUCH
more concerned with this...

True and even if it does cross S Florida, there isnt room enough before landfall for this to be much more than a weak tropical storm which would be very beneficial rainwise. Now IMHO, the gulf residents should pay close attention to this.

Hi spinfan4eva,I think i may just say,1935 labor day hurricane that formed in this sort of region and deepened to a category-5 in about 36hrs roughly.

Of course this system won't do that, enviormental condtions aren't good enough, but these systems have a funny habit of rapidly deepening and should never be taken lightly, which is why recon are flying into this system,we don't want to be caught out now do we???

IF** this becomes a TD this AFT, I will do another forecast with map...BUT, my early thinking, whatever form it may be in, a passage from south florida to the northern part of cuba...looks like the FL straits are looking likely...imo...we will see...looks good right now

Ouch, that would be bad especially in 90 degree waters  http://weather.unisys.com/hurricane/atl ... /track.gif

i will attempt too sure...lol...Well, there is a very strong ridge to the north of it right now. To me that would imply that there should not be a N track if you will. I think it should continue to move WNW since the ridge is strong. I haven't looked a whole lot on the future of the ridge but, I know it will have to breakdown at sometime. hope that helps...it should get into the gulf and move WNW for atleast a bit

LOL

Your not in South Florida... this doesn't look like it'll bother you much. I'm sure you'll do everything you can for it to affect you though.

I think that was uncalled for.
