Hurricane Ethel a catagory "5" storm with the pressure of a cat 2

Do you think this whole cat 5 buisness on ethel was Possibly caused by an equipment error by the Hurricane Hunters?

Ethel is not possible.

In the modern era, errors are small and far between. But they make most errors when a hurricane enters the Caribbean at a low latitude and when a storm explodes and then implodes in the GOM. Charley last year was a big error, and so were Emily in the beginning and Ivan until it entered the GOM. Mitch was also a big error.

In history it could be the Galveston Hurricane of 1900, Labor Day 1935, or Long Island Express 1938. But I am not really sure.

That would be a large error with Ethel but remember this is 1960 then the equipment wasnt nearly as good as what we have now

What about Hurricane Mitch? BIG forecasting errors there.

Either that, or the 1938 LI Hurricane
