"HIGH FIVES ALL AROUND!" :bd: SOMEBODY ELSE who believes what I believe!! *faints*.......I REFUSE to SHOP Wally world, SADLY, others up here don't HAVE A CHOICE, they're the ONLY SHOW IN TOWN :grr: I am VERY fortunate to be able to afford the drive to Flagstaff once a month to shop....YES, even with the price of gas these days, I'm "STILL" making the drive, I dislike WalMart THAT MUCH!

I agree as well. Wal Mart is getting too big for their britches so to speak. They are trying to monopolize business by selling low quality crap. The worse thing is the treatment of employees. I've heard so many numerous stories about they way they'll fire people, espeically those who've worked for them for over 20+ years and were close to retirement. They are so worried about saving a few dollars that they are ruining people's lives. Also, typically, once an employee works there long enough to make a decent hourly wage, they are unsuspectedly fired and replaced with someone new starting at the minimum pay. That really helps them keep their prices down. They used to be the only name in town here, but now we are getting Target and have a recently built Winn-Dixie that needs our help.

when we lived in wickenburg, there was a meeting about getting a walmart out there, but they would have put all those neat little businesses out on the curb. it was ultimately voted down, thank goodness. yeah, there were days when it was a pain in the neck to drive to phoenix to bu socks and underwear, but i sure am glad we stuck with it!

Who said the government should step in and say "no more"?

Acknowledging the problems that Wal-Mart creates for the communty is not the same as advocating the government to come in and stop them.

Yeah, I heard they're closing the Winn Dixie's in Baton Rouge, LA but the one near me is supposed to remain open. They have the highest quality meat of any store I've shopped. Wal mart's meat department is terrible and overpriced, as is the produce. Call me finicky, but I prefer higher quality.
