LMAO. I heard part of an interview on the news the other day where they were talking about hooking up with some type of consulting firm to look at ways to improve evacuations for our residents in conjunction with the state's plan.
While their actions during Cindy turned out to be pretty funny, the truth is that the traffic always backs up in JP. Whether it's the I-10, Vets, Williams, Metairie Rd., Causeway, Westbank Expressway, Huey P. Long Bridge - we get clogged from every direction on a normal day.

The decision not to evacuate may have been made for me. With the I-10 onramp closed at Pontchartain Blvd., traffic is so bad on Canal that I had trouble getting out of my driveway yesterday. So I can imagine spending about two hours sitting in my driveway before even getting on the Interstate.

I agree N.O. would be a nightmare to evacuate and the area isn't protected from storms. Just been lucky for a while. Tampa has been lucky as well. One of these days the luck for both areas will run out. Stay safe. Listen to the local offcials if a threat is evident.bfez1 wrote:superfly wrote:NOLA is immune to major hurricanes. Why would you make such a statement??? New Orleans is one of the most vulnerable areas along the coast. Did you experience Betsy???
