Real Job was a Ice Rink attendant (during the winter, a local park becomes an ice rink)... 5.25/hr... you were lucky if you worked 2 shifts... that year the wx was pretty wild. We hardly ever saw freezing temps.

Babysitting 2 little boys full time for 75 cents an hour in the late 70's. After that, working in a cafe on Saturdays and a couple of days during the week in the summer; I think I got paid around $2.56 an hour. Wooo hoooo! Actually, I took the job because I had to be there by 7 a.m. - my parents were not about to get up and take me, so I got to drive.
