I totally understand. I fear it goes out in the gulf and pulls one of those famous Florida right hooks back into the West Coast. Heck, the NHC path has it south of us Saturday. We'll flood like crazy.

Couple of comments:

Its worse for me because if it continues due west till landfall as NHC says, it will pass close or over my area (from caneseddy).
It IS currently headed directly towards you at the Dade/Broward border.
For those of you not familiar with the area it is about exactly where Dolphin Stadium is.

The GFDL is so unrealistic. It has it down in the Keys at like 25.5 N, where its at 26.1 and gaining latitude slowly (from scorpion)
I don't think it is gaining latitude at all. They almost make it sound like it might actually lose a little latitude.
This is key to us in South-Central Palm Beach county since if it stays at 26 we are probably OUT of the Hurricane Force Wind Field!

I guess in the morning I can make the call whether to put up the shutters or not.

I still think this will hit S. Palm Beach County/North Broward as a strong Cat 1.

Yes, but it would be better if it hit us as a Cat 1 than if it did the GFDL scenario....

The small core is another bad sign... that's how Charley exploded.

She's Got The Look
Roxette

Walking like a man, hitting like a hammer, she's a juvenile scam.
Never was a quitter, tasty like a raindrop,
she's got the look.
Heavenly bound cause heaven's got a number when she's spinning me around,
kissing is a colour. Her loving is a wild dog,
she's got the look.

She's got the look.
She's got the look.

What in the world can make a brown-eyed girl turn blue.
When everything I'll ever do I'll do for you
and I go: la la la la la she's got the look.

Fire in the ice naked to the t-bone is a lover's disguise.
Banging on the head drum, shaking like a mad bull,
she's got the look.

Swaying to the band, moving like a hammer she's a miracle man.
Loving is the ocean, kissing is the wet sand,
she's got the look.

And she goes: na na na na na na na na

This is it approaching the upper keys on the GFDL. The reds are cat 3 winds! If this happens, the whole keys will get at least cat 1 winds and the upper and middle keys will get Cat 2 and Cat 3 winds.

Actually, if this intensification happens, Miami better hope it doesnt go due West from where she is now!

It's at 26.0 which I believe is the same latitude as the 5pm, thus not gaining any at the moment.

Yes... and 26.0 is the Dade/Broward County line.

this storm isnt very strong, hasnt shown signs of major intensification......the gloom and doom is a little bit of a reach...IMO.
