Blustery and rainy in Aventura, but nothing spectacular yet ...

Winds picking up a bit here off the river here in Jupiter. Steadily increasing, but so far not much to worry about. Certainly not worthy of shutters, etc.

Miami Lakes: Wind west 37/gust 47. 29.53 and falling. Rain horizontal from the North. NASTY right now...

EDIT: I'm so beside myself right now! My neighbor who is notorious for leaving his yellow lab outside ALL the time has done it again. Poor baby has not stopped barkin/crying for an hour now. I'm dying to go over and knock some sense into him!!!!! (The homeowner, not the dog!)

EDIT 2: 1st power surges/flickers...5:01pm.

Just took a little walk around the neighborhood - still not too bad, but the power lines are singing (don't think I'll go anywhere near tham when it really kicks up) and I did get knocked sideways five feet or so by a couple of gusts.

We're in the dry slot right now, I think. Still a light rain, and still pretty windy.

NO WAY!! Some people are such Idiots!! Go get that dog!!

Here in Sunrise been light rain all day but wind driven. Been raining
heavy in squalls for about an hour now. Didn't shutter up but considering putting a few up during the lull. It should last a couple hours and looking at radar we should be in it...but...hasn't gotten here yet. We're a bit farther inland. Local neighborhood wx stations in a 10 mile radius registering gusts in the 30s.

Periods of heavy rain...wind from the north about 25 to 30 w/higher gust, getting a little worse by the hour. We'll probably get a lot worse by midnight.

To Heather:

I cannot believe your neighbor could be so cruel. I am up here in Ohio but I see Miami Animal Police all the time on Animal Planet. Pick up the phone and report it, they will come and rectify the situation. Those are no conditions for an animal to be left outside in. That dog must be scared to death.... :(

Wind has shifted around to nearly north, and is definitely kicking up a little more.

Couple of little trees & some branches down is all the damage so far, though. Power is on, but it's out in parts of the neighborhood.

Looks like it is getting ready to get nasty in your area according to the streaming from CBS4. their radar shows the worst eindwise is in FL and Hollywood area along I95 and swinging around the center.
